In the end it was just not enjoyable. The first third of this book was great, but by the second half of the book, the author lost me. The story starts out with a pandemic that threatens the world. But by the second half, we're into a world wide conspiracy with secret islands, submarines, and a mysterious machine (or whatever it is) that will save humanity. Zakaria lays out the road from the pandemic to the transcendence of America the Dysfunctional. The to-do list is long.
